The 2011 Riverside Dickens Festival will pack the downtown Convention Center with demonstrations, diversions, shows, and spectacles to satiate the senses, astonish the sensibilities and ignite the imagination.  Festival-goers will be able to:

Cheer Charles Dickens on as he goes toe-to-toe with Edgar Allan Poe.

Hear Edgar Allan Poe quote "The Raven."

Behold the bemused Barnaby Rudge bandying barbs with his own black bird.

Celebrate the famed jumping frog of Calaveras County with Mark Twain.

Heckle and harangue the stentorian orators at Hyde Park Corner.

Defy gravity at Jeffrye's school of juggling.

Gape as the Gordon Highlanders, with pipes and drum, charge to the tune of a Gatling gun.

Watch Oscar go Wilde.

Review the troops with Queen Victoria.

Catch The Crummles Acting Troupe's comedic condensation of the novel Barnaby Rudge.

Waltz, polka, and chasse the day away in our lively Victorian Dance Hall.

Perambulate through Oliver's Alley in London's East End.

Shop 'til they drop in the London Marketplace.

Pause to take a pint in The Marquis of Granby Ale Pub or a bit of tasty British fodder at the Maypole Inn.

Join us in costume or come as you are to the most illuminating festival since the 19th century.
